Snowdonia is a region in North Wales, and a national park. Established in 1951 it covers 838 square miles (2,170km²). It is home to the highest mountain in Wales: Mount Snowdon at  1,085 metres (3,560 ft).

There’s something for everyone in Wales. Harlech is just 12 miles away, over the Rhinog mountains, its historic castle and miles of beaches are easily accessible by bus or car. If you’re feeling energetic, why not take a bike or walk there, travelling over the “Roman Steps”, an ancient path to the coast through the mountains that can be seen from both cabins.

The area has many managed forests and woodlands. Just two and a half miles from the cabins is the Coed y Brenin forest, a must-visit for hikers and mountain bikers.

The walks in the area will take you through some of the most wonderful scenery in the UK. At all times of the year, the views are spectacular and the countryside unspoiled. Remember when walking to take with you your memories and leave only your footprints.
